A Faculty Development
Programme on "Awareness of the POCSO and
POSH Acts" was conducted on 23rd May 2026for
the teaching staff of St. Anthony Church
School. The session was conducted by Ms.
Deepthi Mable, advocate and founder of
BraveTalk Hub and Ms. Jishma Josy,
Psychologist, NIMHANS and was highly
informative and meaningful. The resource
persons explained the important rules,
regulations, provisions and responsibilities
under the Protection of Children from Sexual
Offences (POCSO) Act and the Prevention of
Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace
(POSH) Act. The teachers gained valuable
knowledge about maintaining professional
boundaries, safeguarding children,
respecting colleagues and creating a safe
and respectful school environment.
The programme also provided practical
guidance on how to identify, prevent and
respond to inappropriate activities or
situations. The teaching staff learnt the
importance of being alert and aware, taking
preventive measures, and following the
appropriate procedures if any incident or
concern arises. The session was greatly
appreciated by the staff for its practical
relevance and clarity. Overall, the
programme was a wonderful and enriching
learning experience, strengthening the
teachers' awareness, confidence and
responsibility towards ensuring the safety,
dignity and well-being of students and
staff.
